Firstly, your doctor talks to you about the process. You can discuss your preferences, questions, and concerns about the risks. Generally, a suitable surgery day is chosen for you. On the night before the surgery, you shouldn’t eat solid food after dinner. You can only have liquid foods. After midnight, you also stop liquid intake. This way, you are ready for the surgery the next day.

Now, you are ready for your surgery. It takes around 30 minutes. Firstly, the balloon is placed from the mouth to the stomach through an endoscope. After being placed in the stomach, the balloon is inflated with liquid or air. Balloon removal is also an endoscopic procedure. It takes about 15 minutes.
